starBiography:star

"I am from Leitrim, Ireland.

As I grew up on a farm, many of my poems are about nature and my relationship with it and the world.

I recently won the Leitrim Guardian Literary Award. I also received an award from Scottish Open International Poetry Competition last year for a long poem.
I have published two books of poetry, Perfume of the Soil, 1999 and The Road to Gowel, 2000. My poems have been included in a book about Trees and a book edited by Rosemarie Rowley, which also includes many other poets, such as Shakespeare, Wordsworth and Seamus Heaney. I have read my work at various venues over the past few years and have been published in anthologies as far away as Australia, India, Canada, USA and back to England and Ireland.
I had a trip to Boston, December 2001, an exchange with Optimal Avenues, and read at seven venues in and around Boston."
